While we try our best to upload tolls as soon as we receive them, we cannot guarantee that you will be notified before the toll due date. visitor.us is not responsible for tolls, tickets, or any associated late fees.
Remove plates upon sale to avoid future tolls
The registered owner associated with the license plates on the vehicle that trigger the toll is responsible for paying the toll.
If you sell your vehicle, and your buyer drives through a toll point with your plates, you will responsible for the toll.
Montana instructs vehicle sellers to remove the plates from the vehicle upon sale for exactly this reason.
EXCEPTION: if you are traveling through Mexico, Central, or South America, your buyer may need to continue driving on your vehicle's plates. In this case, your plates should not be removed from the vehicle upon sale.
