Two things are required to form a Montana LLC:

  1. The desired name. It has to be distinguishable from active Montana companies in good standing with the Montana Secretary of State's office

(Things that don't distinguish an LLC name include ampersand, words like the, a, and, or a, or corporate identifiers, inc, co, LLC, LTD, PC, company, limited, ffetc. Do not constitute a significant difference for filing. Use of special characters, plurals, possessives, conjunction, punctuation, or tense does not constitute a significant difference.)

  2. The names and addresses of the owners of the LLC.

The address is the owner's residential address, where he or she normally lives, or last lived.
